After one season on defense, Alden moved to receiver as a
sophomore and has spent the past two seasons catching
passes....comes into his senior season poised to make a larger
impact in the fast-paced Golden Eagle offense...Alden opened his
Golden Eagle career as a cornerback in 2008, then made the move to
wide receiver in 2009 spring drills...suffered a broken leg in 2009
spring drills but worked hard all summer in rehab and was able to
return to the field in the fall...has proven to be an effective
inside receiver in his first two season at the position...lines up
at the "Z" receiver position..has played in 33 games during his
three-year career.
AT TECH (In 2010): Settled comfortably into his
role as a receiver and caught 11 passes for 104 yards...played in
10 games...caught passes in eight games, including three receptions
for 12 yards against Murray State...his best game was two catches
for 37 yards against UT Martin including a season-long catch of 21
yards...also played on special teams...blocked a kick at Tennessee
State in the Golden Eagle road win.
(In 2009): Alden was on the field in all 11 contests as a
sophomore despite a spring injury...caught 11 passes for 151 yards
and three touchdowns...grabbed a 53-yard touchdown pass in the
season opener, his first game at his new position...had two catches
for 36 yards including a touchdown at Eastern Illinois...grabbed
three passes for 14 yards and scored another TD in the season
finale against Murray State.
(In 2008): As a cornerback, Alden saw action in all 12
games and made 23 total tackles...had 14 solo tackles, including
seven in the game at Western Michigan...had four tackles against
Eastern Illinois in his final game on defense.
HIGH SCHOOL: A two-way standout at Sycamore High
School in Cincinnati, Alden was named team captain and voted
first-team All-Greater Miami Conference...on defense, he had 68
total tackles with nine passes defended and four interceptions...on
offense, he had 75 carries for 458 yards and four
touchdowns...during his junior season, he had 52 tackles and one
interception, and was named second-team all-conference...also a
two-year letterman on the lacrosse team.
